About Me

Matthew Cottam is an academic research scientist in the Section of Surgical Sciences at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His interests are at the interface of immunology, intracellular metabolism, and cancer biology in the tumor microenvironment. He is a driving force behind the Kamran Idrees research group, which utilizes data collected from surgically resected specimens to identify ways to improve response to immunotherapy for patients with metastatic cancer.

📚 My Research

I’m a computational immunologist in the Section of Surgical Sciences at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. I leverage next-generation sequencing of human tumor metastases to generate novel immunotherapeutics for use in clinical care.
